About
The company
Cooljackal is a childhood dream that refused to stay one. Long before it was an LLC, it was the name I gave the company I was going to run someday — the one that would build things. Years of experience, and a few well-timed opportunities, slowly honed that dream into something with real shape: a way of working, a standard for what's worth building, and eventually the company you're reading about.
Today, Cooljackal works across risk capital, AI, and hardware — sometimes as the builder, sometimes as the advisor. We develop products of our own, like NodeSix, a local-first secure wireless gateway currently in development, and we partner with clients who need an experienced hand somewhere between the first sketch and the thousandth unit.
The throughline is simple: understand the problem from first principles, build the parts that matter, and integrate the rest.
The founder (me)
I'm Farhan Husain. By day, I'm the Chief Underwriting Officer (and former Chief Business Officer) at FutureProof Technologies, an insurtech that uses statistical modeling and data architecture to change how property & casualty risk gets underwritten. By night, I'm here — building Cooljackal.
Some highlights from the FutureProof years:
- Joined in April 2022 as Chief Business Officer, later moving into the underwriting seat.
- Helped launch the FutureProof Insurance Agency in early 2025, onboarding dozens of consumer carrier brands — Progressive, Chubb, and Liberty Mutual among them — onto AI-driven risk filtering.
- Drove the AI underwriting tools that cut competitive rate research from six weeks to three days — the speed that let us scale complex E&S programs across Florida, Texas, and California without piling on headcount.
Before that, a run of scaling technology-forward insurance operations:
- Moss Corporation — CEO and Chief Innovation Officer; direct-to-consumer insurtech applications and cashflow forecasting frameworks.
- Bridger Insurance Services — Chief Innovation Officer; the data warehouse infrastructure behind their automated corporate analytics.
- SCJ Insurance Services — insurance product development and analytical decision-making frameworks.
And the hardware side of the resume lives in the portfolio:
- Wireless Telescope Controller — Wi-Fi control for GoTo telescope mounts, shipped as the Meade Stella and Orion StarSeek.
- Fault-tolerant transceivers — automatic-failover Ethernet for EtherCom Corporation, from schematic review through testing.
I hold an M.S. in Applied Statistics from California State University, East Bay, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UC Davis. If you want the long version, I'm on LinkedIn.
