Wireless Telescope Controller
A pocket-sized Wi-Fi controller for computerized (GoTo) telescope mounts: it bridges the mount’s serial control protocol onto a wireless network, so a planetarium app on a phone or tablet can point the telescope. Tap an object on the star chart and the mount slews to it.
Advantages & key features
- Drives hundreds of GoTo mount models over their native serial protocols
- Creates its own Wi-Fi network in the field — no router or internet required
- Works with the leading planetarium apps on iOS and Android
- Battery-powered for a full night of observing away from mains power
What we did
We supported the controller’s product development: enclosure design, component selection, firmware — from core functionality through the user interface — and post-manufacturing support. The same platform shipped under two major telescope brands.
Products
- Meade Stella — The Meade Instruments variant, paired with their AutoStar-controlled telescopes.
- Orion StarSeek — The Orion Telescopes & Binoculars variant, bundled with the StarSeek planetarium app.
